LAND ROVER NAMED OFFICIAL VEHICLE FOR TOUR OF CONNECTICUT
Land Rover raises funds and awareness for Parkinson's Institute

NEW YORK, NY (April 27, 2004) - Sparta Cycling, Inc., event producer of the Tour of Connecticut, announced today that Land Rover will be the Official Vehicle of the 2004 Tour of Connecticut racing in Litchfield, Lime Rock Park, New Haven, Waterbury and Danbury, CT May 16 - 23. Land Rover of Milford, CT and Land Rover of Guilford, CT will serve as Presenting Sponsors of the 2004 Tour.

"We are excited about this opportunity to partner with the Tour of Connecticut and show our support for the sport," said Susan Wiedmann of Land Rover Guilford. "Land Rover supports organizations, events and activities that all have one thing in common: a spirit for adventure and a respect for the environment."

The Land Rover "Discovery" will be on site at both the Danbury and New Haven races, May 21st and 23rd, promoting "Drive Around the World". Four certified pre-owned Discovery Land Rovers departed San Francisco on November 1, 2003 and will complete their north-south circumnavigation of the world visiting 34 countries in nine months.

In addition to the basic task of circumnavigating the world overland, the expedition aims to raise money and awareness for Parkinson's disease research, and promote global awareness among schoolchildren by providing a free geography, natural history and social sciences curriculum for use in schools throughout North America and the United Kingdom. 100% of funds raised go directly to the Parkinson's Institute.

Land Rover is a name universally identified with the definitive four-wheel-drive vehicle. Although Land Rover is constantly enhancing and developing its products, the history behind these unique vehicles reveals a consistency of vision - a combination of luxury and purpose-built design. This focus is perhaps one reason why Land Rover's brand values - Authenticity, Adventure, Guts, and Supremacy- shine through in its vehicles so clearly; whether it is a Freelander, Discovery or Range Rover.

Now sold in more than 140 countries, Land Rover has evolved from a basic utilitarian product in 1948 to a vehicle that is known as "the most well-traveled vehicles on earth." Few products can match the recognition and respect accorded to these vehicles. But perhaps the ultimate endorsement of Land Rover values comes from the vehicles themselves: an incredible three quarters of all Land Rovers ever to be manufactured are still in use today. To display this road worthy prowess, the Tour of Connecticut will utilize a variety of the models, some of which will be from the Land Rover Centers' fleet of "certified Pre-Owned" vehicles.

The Tour of Connecticut is produced by Sparta Cycling of New York City. Sparta Cycling, Inc. is one of America's top cycling event promoters that designs and implements world-class cycling events based on strong community involvement. Sparta properties include the Tour of Connecticut, the Housatonic Valley Classic and the Univest Grand Prix.
